Samantha Akkineni: Trolling made me question my sanity

first_imgThough Samantha Akkineni has an enviable fan following, she also has her share of haters. She is no stranger to trolling and often gets extremely nasty comments on her social media posts. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that when she was new in showbiz, she used to get really bothered by the negativity. “Trolling did affect me initially, to the extent that I was questioning whether I was going insane. I would wake up and the first thing I would do was check for trolls. It was really, really hurting my mental stability and making me rush to make the wrong decisions,” she said.Samantha added that it took her a while to come out of that phase. “I don’t think I have much advice for anyone or much of an explanation on how I got out of such a situation. It was just over time. Now, I am at a point where it’s just for fun. I do not respond to that for any sort of annoyance. I am just playing along,” she said.Having been the subject of trolling quite often, Samantha now knows what to expect even before she posts something. “I know there is going to be a troll even before I put a tweet or post a picture. I have gotten so used to what to expect from trolls, that I know exactly what is going to happen,” she said.On the work front, Samantha will be seen next in Nandini Reddy’s Oh! Baby, which is an official adaptation of the Korean film Miss Granny, in which a 70-something woman finds herself trapped in the body of her 20-year-old self. The film will release on July 5.advertisementALSO READ | Samantha Akkineni brutally trolled for posing in beachwear on Ibiza holidayALSO SEE | Samantha Akkineni nails fierce workout in sports bra and tights.
